PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY

COMPETITION PROGRAMME

Our aim at the Performance Golf Academy is to improve our student’s performances and equip them with all the tools necessary to be able to compete at the highest level.

We work with each individual to help them tailor an individual competition schedule based around their goals and targets.

Each student is educated to understand the importance of planning and managing their training programme to ensure they perform whilst competing in major events.

Again we will draw on our expert experience of working with professionals and elite amateur golfers to ensure the students plan a realistic and manageable competitive programme.

We will run events within the Performance Golf Academy and also compete in matches against other colleges. Student’s schedules will also target County, Regional and National events to deliver the goals and targets which they set for themselves.

The Performance Golf Academy Derby team will compete in the new national Inter Collegiate Tour which commenced in September 2008.

ORDER OF MERIT

The students compete in an order of merit throughout the college term which involves 10 stroke play rounds plus a match play championship and end of year tour championship. Each week they compete for Euros, replicating the professionals on the European Tour, the only difference is that the students don't actually bank the Euros. The students find this is great fun and real motivator to drive them to improve their performance and be No.1 in college.

The team of professional coach’s will prepare and support the students throughout the process of preparation, competition and post competition analysis.

Although our aim is to prepare and encourage students for competition, this will be closely monitored and it will never compromise their academic study and progress.
