Derby College students, Dean Hibbert and Jack Cope have both been selected to represent Derbyshire 1st team at Burton on Trent Golf Club on Sunday 13th September for the match against Lincolnshire.

Dean and Jack both members of the PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY education and player training programme received the call up following a summer of steady performances. Dean from Horsley Lodge Golf Club has played for the 1st team before, but this is the first call up for Jack who plays at Matlock Golf Club. Jack is currently the Matlock Junior Captain and has steered his club team to victories recently in the Derbyshire Junior team championships and the Derbyshire/Cheshire league.

Jack Cope commented: “I am delighted to have been asked to play for the county first team. This is a great reward for all the hard work and training I have put in; I am really excited and looking forward to the match.”

Both players have been working hard on their games for the past year under the guidance of the coaching and support team at the PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY.

PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY programme director Nigel Furniss commented: “I am really please for Dean and Jack, they both deserve their selection for their dedication and determination towards improving their golf.”
