PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY The two year programme of education is delivered and managed by Derby College at their Prince Charles Avenue and Broomfield sites in Derby.
WHAT IS THE COURSE STRUCTURE? BTEC National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) Academy members will complete the BTEC National Diploma or Certificate (where appropriate for candidates of a lower academic level) in Sport qualification and will follow the performance and excellence stream across the two years of their attendance at the college. The qualification is designed to give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment or progress into higher education. The Edexcel Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) consists of eight core units plus 10 specialist units that provide for a combined total of 1080 guided learning hours (GLH) for the completed qualification. The BTEC National Certificate in Sport (Performance and Excellence) would provide 780 guided learning hours. The BTEC National programme of study will be designed around the golf academy to provide academy members with a well-balanced qualification, which complements their golf specific studies and development. The educational team at Derby College together with the experts at Performance Golf will work in unison to ensure that golf academy members leave the academy with a high level educational qualification, which contributes to their personal and professional development within the golf sector.
