PERFORMANCE GOLF ACADEMY DERBY TRAINING PROGRAMME The Performance Golf Academy Derby Training programme has been designed by Nigel Furniss, former English Golf Union (EGU) Performance Director and will draw on his experience of researching, developing and implementing the EGU’s World Class Performance Programme in consultation with Sport England.
Students will be educated in the importance of understanding the attributes necessary to be a world class golfer and how to acquire the skills to improve their own individual performance.
Each student will be supported and provided with a training programme specific to their individual needs. They will be introduced to Sports Science and Sports Medicine and be encouraged to undertake core strength work, flexibility work, improve their aerobic capacity and learn new mental skills to help them evaluate their performances and cope with pressure.
Students will be receiving support and assessments in some of the following areas:
(A) Individual Athlete Plans including;
(B) Sports Science & Medicine Support including;
(C) Technical Coaching including:
Our team are committed to helping players “Plan for Success” and realise their potential in their pursuit to become champion golfers.
Our training programme may provide opportunities for the students to attend oversees training camps between January and March each year to present them with the opportunity to experience different types of golf courses and grasses that they will need to be familiar with should they pursue a career playing professional golf. (Cost of oversees training will be extra to the course programme costs)
